How Long is your Digestive System?
Students used meter sticks and yarn to measure (approximately) the length of each section of the gastrointestinal tract. They were blown away at how long the small intestine is compared to other organs. About 4x their height.
Gummy Bear Despair- What Happens Chemically?
Students burned gummy bears and observed the chemical reaction and documented the chemical and physical changes. Then they compared these changes to those our bodies have during digestion.
Infographics and Analyzing Information
Students investigated different sets of infographics and looked for bias, error and found out some cool stuff about the digestive system.
