Respiratory and Circulatory Systems

This week students made a model of a lung with a balloon, cup, and straw. They did some exercise and calculated their breathing rate. AND finally , students ran around outside for 20 minutes and counted their heart beats every minute. Then they graphed their results. It was a busy week of exercise.

Monday students are going to the LGI to see and learn about different parts of the heart. A guest speaker is bringing in examples and will explain the 4 chambers as well as the different cardiac diseases and disorders.

Students were assigned a week ago a project that is due on November 24th. It is making the connection between all of the human body systems and how they interactively work together to keep us alive and healthy.
